Playing the predictions game is a tempting exercise at this time of the year. It should, of course, be avoided at all costs. As our recent 'Bunch of Fives, 5 predictions that didn't quite make it' (http://www.silicon.com/a50131) attests, it's more than likely to embarrass you at a later date. Indeed the best you can hope is that your off-target crystal ball gazing will be quickly forgotten.

But not wanting to shy away from the task entirely, we instead present the headlines we're (fairly) confident you won't see in 2002.
