In the four years we've been running silicon.com, we always thought we had a good idea who we were writing for. Our latest Lifestyle Research shows we haven't been getting it wrong.
So, who are you? According to our survey, you are likely to be interested in technology and business (no surprises there). You're likely to be male - although nearly one in five of you are of the fairer sex: who said there are no women in IT?
Nearly all of you own a mobile phone (91 per cent), a significant number have your own laptop (49 per cent) and bank online (75 per cent) - good news for the eggs of this world.
Two-thirds of you are between 25 and 45, though we'd love to know who the two survey respondents are aged under 18. Glad to have you on board, but you should get out more.
Forty-five per cent of you live in the south-east of England, although we do have readers across the land, and a sizeable minority overseas.
And from our Skills Survey (http://www.silicon.com/skillssurvey2002 ) carried our earlier this year, we even know 13.9 per cent of you earn over £70,001 per annum and 3.7 per cent of you fall into a category we've arbitrarily called 'super-earners', making more than £110,001 a year. Hats off to you.
So what's the point in all this? Well, we are continually striving to improve our offering, and to tailor our content to your needs and interests.
And while these statistics help, there's nothing like hearing directly from you as individuals - one of the reasons we try to encourage you to comment on our stories.
So if you have any ideas about silicon.com - its content, its design, its style - by all means let us know by emailing editorial@silicon.com. After all, you're not just a number...
